It seems like I’m a bit of a stuck record at the mo, always talking about fashion and checking out what the trend is.

Truth is with the change of seasons, seems everybody is.
Following fashion for me is like doing a generalization on a topic. I follow it but broadly.

When I make clothing for me I design and make it to suit my style not what someone else says. Many of my customers have similar ideas, except I do the sewing.

And I am happy to see many of the wonderful blogs I follow on fashion the writers are also similar. Makes me feel not so odd. Minority maybe but not odd.

This is my own pattern, and a very simple one: sleeveless, boatneck bodice with a dirndl-style skirt that’s only gathered on the sides.

I took a cue from a ready to wear dress I own and lined the skirt with poly organza. It has a lot more bounce than silk organza, so it makes the skirt incredibly fluffy. Read more…
